We are a nonprofit organization which specializes in the rescue of small
dogs and puppies of all breeds and mixes. Hearts For Hounds is comprised
of dedicated volunteers who share a common goal and compassion, which is
to educate the public regarding animal welfare and find qualified homes
for abandoned and forgotten animals.
Because we are a rescue organization we respect and support our local shelters.
We recommend that you first visit your local shelter where many beautiful
and loving animals are waiting to be adopted. If you are unable to find
what you are looking for, please come visit our Hearts For Hounds adoptions.
Hearts for Hounds has successfully placed more than 5,000 dogs and puppies
(as of late 2003).
We present our canine companions to the public every Sunday from 9 am to
1 pm, next to the Alamitos Bay Marina Farmers' Market, on the parking lot
of the Alamitos Bay Marina, on Marina Drive just south of 2nd
St, in East Long Beach.

Please find below several photos of our presence on Sundays, taken in late Summer 2001:
We rescue and
rehabilitate
many breeds
and mutts,
all tiny
to petite
to small...
Our enclosures
are designed with
people-friendliness
and accessibility
in mind.
All our dogs
are craving
your petting.
Love is
all around
us...
Nothing
calms,
nurtures,
heals,
satisfies,
or makes life
worth living,
like sharing
our affections...
