HAFM:
$CALE-ABILITY!
Remember: ALL of our
certified farmers markets in Los Angeles County, California (Huntington
Park Farmers Market, Long Beach Uptown Farmers Market, Long Beach Downtown
Farmers Market, Cerritos Farmers Market, and Long Beach Southeast Farmers
Market) are OPEN YEAR-ROUNDrain or shine.
We
gladly accept WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program Coupons
AND
USDA Food Coupons / EBT Accounts.
A note about USDA Food
Coupons: the USA has transitioned to a plastic debit card system known
as EBT. We at HAFM transact this new system as follows:
-
ALL of our certified farmers
markets in Los Angeles County, California (Huntington Park Farmers Market,
Long Beach Uptown Farmers Market, Long Beach Downtown Farmers Market, Cerritos
Farmers Market, and Long Beach Southeast Farmers Market) are equipped with
one on-site electronic machine which updates EBT customer accounts. Upon
request, the customer will be issued HAFM market coupons (scrip) for exclusive
use in any of our five markets anytime.
-
In four of our markets
(where there has been minimal food coupon activity), the EBT customer shall
contact the Market Manager walking about, who will personally handle the
requested transactions; these markets being Huntington Park Farmers Market,
Long Beach Uptown Farmers Market, Cerritos Farmers Market, and Long Beach
Southeast Farmers Market. But at the Long Beach Downtown Farmers Market,
there is also a staffed EBT/info booth, 11 am - 2 pm every market
friday, centrally located.
